Terms of Use

These terms apply when you use Chonky, Chonky Live, and related invitation pages. Chonky is made by Russell Ong. By using the app, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.

The game

Chonky is an entertainment and wellness game, not a medical, fitness, or safety service. Goals, reminders, step totals, and estimated progress are informational. Pay attention to your surroundings, choose activity appropriate for you, and seek qualified medical advice when needed.

Free play and optional purchases

• The local walking adventure can be played without an account or purchase.
• Coins are earned through play, from friend invite rewards, or by exchanging Gems at the displayed fixed rates. Coins are in-game currency with no cash value. Gems are server-owned, and every Gem is delivered once to the wallet of one signed-in account. Gem packs bought while signed out wait on that iPhone and go to the first account that signs in there.
• Purchases never buy verified steps, rankings, Main Story progress, or combat power. Gem packs contain a fixed disclosed amount and are not random rewards.
• Permanent extras are one-time purchases. Once their receipt is verified, they remain associated with the Apple Account that bought them, subject to Apple's services and these terms.
• Chonky Club and No Banner Ads can be bought without an account. If you sign in later, the purchase moves to that account.

Gem packs

Gem packs contain a fixed, disclosed number of Gems (12, 40, or 90) and are not random rewards. Buying one needs an online connection, not an account. Apple handles checkout, RevenueCat verifies the transaction, and Chonky Live delivers the Gems once to the wallet of the signed-in account. If you buy while signed out, the Gems wait on that iPhone and go to the first account that signs in with Apple there. They cannot move to another account after that, and deleting the app before you sign in can leave them waiting, in which case contact support with your App Store receipt; the balance shown in the app is that server-owned balance. Gems can be exchanged at the listed fixed rates for Coins used on cosmetics and Home upgrades. Gems never buy verified steps, rankings, Main Story progress, or combat power. Unused Gems stay in the account's wallet and are not paid out as cash.

Optional ads

• Ads are only for players who say they are 18 or older, and they are on by default for them once signed in. Players who say they are under 18 get no ads. Do not choose "18 or Older" for a child.
• The normal Daily Walk reward is complete before any ad choice appears. Watching an ad is never required for Story, rankings, combat, streaks, or a purchase.
• An adult may watch at most one optional Google AdMob rewarded ad per day for one Gem. Ads are personalized only if you allow tracking when Apple asks; otherwise they are not personalized. Availability is not guaranteed and may depend on network, region, provider fill, privacy checks, safety checks, and service status.
• A signed-in adult may see one small banner above the main tabs. The permanent No Banner Ads purchase removes passive banners only; the voluntary rewarded ad remains a separate choice. An active Chonky Club membership also suppresses banners while the membership remains active.
• A client playback message is not a reward grant. AdMob must send server-side verification to RevenueCat, and Chonky Live must accept RevenueCat's authenticated virtual-currency event. Verification can be delayed; retries and duplicate events cannot grant twice.
• You may not automate ad viewing, forge callbacks, manipulate identifiers, bypass daily limits, or otherwise abuse the reward system. Invalid or unverifiable events receive no reward.
• You can turn ads off, which stops new ad requests, and open required Google Privacy Options in Chonky Settings. See the Privacy Policy for Google AdMob, RevenueCat, data use, and choices.

Chonky Club subscription

• Chonky Club is offered monthly and yearly. The current localized price is shown before confirmation.
• An introductory free trial, when offered and eligible, converts to the selected paid plan unless canceled before the trial ends.
• Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Apple may charge the renewal within 24 hours before that period ends.
• You can manage or cancel in Apple Account subscription settings. Canceling stops future renewals; access normally continues until the paid period ends.

Accounts and online play

Sign in with Apple is required for Chonky Live features, including Packs, Friends, Leaderboards and friend invites. Keep your device and Apple Account secure. You may not automate play, falsify steps, exploit purchases or referrals, harass other players, interfere with the service, or attempt unauthorized access. Online play also follows the Community rules below. We may restrict online features to protect players and service integrity. You may delete your account in the app.

Community rules

Chonky has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive players. The app asks you to agree to these rules before you first open Friends, Pack or Leaderboards.

• Don't pick a player name or Pack name that is hateful, sexual, threatening or harassing, or that pretends to be Chonky staff.
• Don't use friend requests, Packs or invites to bother anyone.
• You can block any player, and report a player, from Friends, Friend Requests, Leaderboards or your Pack. Pack members can also report their Pack's name. Nobody is told who reported them.
• Blocking ends a friendship, stops their friend requests, and hides you from each other on leaderboards and in Pack Pulse. You can undo a block in Settings.
• We review every report within 24 hours. When something breaks these rules we remove it, and we may rename, suspend or remove the account responsible. A suspension stays with the Apple Account, even if its Chonky account is deleted and made again.
• Pack leaders can remove members and hand the Pack to someone else. A removed player can't rejoin that Pack.

Friend invites

• Invite Friends, in Profile, gives you a code and a link to share. While invites are open, when a friend uses your invite and then joins or starts a Pack and takes a walk within 30 days, you both get 500 Coins once their account is at least a day old. No Coins are paid while invites are paused, and the app says so.
• Each new account can use one invite, within 7 days of making the account, and each Apple Account can get one welcome reward. You can't invite yourself, and invites between accounts on the same iPhone don't pay out.
• You can earn from up to 5 invites a week and 20 in total.
• Using a friend's invite sends you a friend request from them. You become friends only if you accept it.
• Coins are in-game currency with no cash value. No invite reward asks you to rate or review the app. We may withhold invite rewards that come from breaking these terms, and we may pause or end the invite program at any time.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Chonky available but do not promise uninterrupted service or that every online feature will always remain unchanged. Safety-gated online features may pause when their server contract cannot be verified. Economy changes will not remove verified permanent purchases or silently convert a fixed purchase into a random reward.

Payments, refunds, and Apple

Apple processes App Store purchases and controls billing, taxes, refunds, and subscription management. Refund requests must be made through Apple's Report a Problem service. These terms supplement Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which is incorporated here. If these terms conflict with Apple's standard EULA, Apple's standard EULA controls to the extent of the conflict.

Intellectual property

Chonky's software, characters, pixel art, writing, audio, and branding are owned by Russell Ong or their respective licensors. You receive a personal, non-transferable license to use the app under these terms and Apple's standard EULA. You may share screenshots and personal creations made with built-in sharing tools, but may not resell or redistribute the app's assets.

Disclaimer and liability

To the extent permitted by law, Chonky is provided as available without additional warranties. We are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, unsafe activity, lost progress caused by unsupported device modification, or third-party services outside our control. Nothing here limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited.
